HISTORY OF PUP MULANAY
PUP Mulanay, the youngest branch, strategically located along the national road, a kilometer and half from the town proper of Mulanay. It is now a landmark that adds life and beauty to the Vicinity.
The mission for the establishment of a University in Bondoc Peninsula was realize through the passage of Republic Act No. 7645 better known as the General Appropriation Act of 1991 providing five million pesos(Php.5,000,000) as in initial capital outlay. Its operation started in June 19, 1993 as a result of the conserted effort of former Congressman Bienvinido O. Marquez, Jr. PUP president Dr. Nemesion E. Prudente and executive Vice President Zenaida A. Olanan, and with the donation of one hectare sprawling land by businessman philantrophist Frank Bocobo, PUP Mulanay now stands as an avenue of knowledge is the contryside.

Education, the most valuable inheritance that parents could give to thier children inspired the people of Ilayang Yuni to work on and inculcate in the mindes of thier beloved children the importance of pursuing higher education of thier own betterment. The community's desire and eagerness to send thier youth to high school paved way to the establishment of Ilayang Yuni National High School on February 1978 through the effport of barangay Captain Herculano Pardilla the duly elected branagay captain of Ilayang Yuni during tharttime and the school site of 10,575 sq. m. was donated through thekindness of Mr. Valentin Bico, a native resident of the barangay. It started with enrolless who were not natives of the barangay but residents of neighboring areas such as Matataja, Pakiing, Patabog and Ibabang Yuni. Mrs. Evelyn P. Deveza now Mrs. Evelyn D. Recana and Mrs Lourdes G. Nambio, former M. Lourdes E garcia were the first teachers of the school. The continuous increase in population every year led to the hiring of Mrs. Estrella T. Ramos, Mr. Monselle M. Garcia, Mrs Fraternidad G. Holgado and Ms. Oliva M. Gatdula now Mrs Oliva G. Robles.
For several years the school existed under the supervision of Ilayang yuni Elementary School Principal; and the students were paying tuition fees for the salary of teachers.
Through the years the enrolment of the school increased. More teachers were hired and more buildings were built. Improvised classrooms made of native materials were changed to concrete ones and more facilities and aids came.
Year 1989 when the nomenclature Ilayang Yuni Barangay High School was changed to ilayang Yuni National high school as approved by the Secretary of Department Education formely known as Department of Education, Culture and Sports. Since then, students of Ilayang Yuni National High School are enjoying free education.
Ilayang Yuni National High School in its existence had triumphantlt surpassed all the challenges, trials and struggles that test the stability of the school. Its pursuit in producing productive and academically competititve students had been successfully realized for the school is now one of the performing schools in Mulanay and had gone far in academic, sports, co-currilar and extra-curricular competitions not only on the district level but also in the cluster, division and even in regional level competitions particularly in the STEP Skills Competitions.
Recently Ilayang Yuni National High School was awarded by the Solid Waste Management Committee of Local Government of Mulanay as the Cleanest and Greenest Learning Institution in Mulanay District(Secondary Level) on February 1, 2008 and declared as Champion during t5he first Coco-Lunay Festival Street Dancing Competitions on February 3, 2008 and also awarded as Best in Costume.
HISTORY OF SUMAGONSONG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Sumagonsong Elementary School was first established as Sumagonsong Priamary School way back 1988 under the supervison of Mr. Lazaro J. Averilla, the district supervisor that time. The donor of the school sita was Liwayway Revillosa, the owner of a parcel of land situated at Sitio Sumagonsong , Brgy. Pakiing Mulanay,Quezon covering an area of 1 hectare bounded as follows: on the North Lot. 75 on the East Sumagonsong , on the West Lot. No.73, on the South Sumagonsong Creek. The school site was donated by the dnor for establishment of the school forthe benefit of the pupils of Brgy. Pakiing particulary in Sitio Sumagonsong. Specially, The Deed of Donation of the School site was transferred and conveyed by the way of donation unto the DONEE.
After the deed of donation was completely signed by the donor, the school nsite was finally owned by the DECS, flat and swampy was the topograhy of the school site.
Sumagonsong Elementary School is one of the along the road school in the district. Road surface is good and passable by any vihecles, 18 kilameters is the distance of school from town proper of Mulanay. The school have a good water supply through rain collector. v Its electrical source is from QUEZELCO.
There are six building namely: BLSB type II 1989, BLSB type II 1991, BLSB type III 1993, demountable Bldg. 1995, BLSB type III 1997, BLSB type III 1996. It was founded from the school building program implemented by DPWH or DefED. There sre no dangerous objects inside school property boundary like community involvement in school activities it was shown yearly during the Brigada Eskuela in Cleaning, reapair works, site preparation and education equipment repair. Fenced is the boundary line of school property. The mother of Perpetual Help is the nearest religious institution besides the Sumagonsong Elementary School.
At present, Sumagonsong Elementary School give fucos both physical and academic aspects of teachers, pupils and all the stakeholders.
